Under the Treaty of Altranstadt renounces the Polish crown in favour of Stanislaus I. Treaty between Augustus II of Poland and Saxony and Charles XII of Sweden, Charles had driven Augustus out of Poland, and eventually, by occupying Saxony, forced him out of the war. By the Treaty of Altranstadt, Augustus abdicates the Polish throne and recognises Charless candidate for the Polish throne
