Adolf Hitler, 1889–1945

Adolf Hitler led the National Socialist German Workers' Party and became Chancellor of Germany in 1933. His dictatorship destroyed Germany's democratic institutions, pursued racial persecution and genocide, drove territorial expansion and war across Europe, and ended with Germany's defeat in 1945.
