The agreement is not long-lasting, in 1105 Henry invades Normandy & defeats his brothers (Robert II) army the following at the Battle of Tinchebray. Robert & his followers were allowed to return to Normandy without reprisal from Henry I

Robert is pardoned & given a pension by Henry I. Renounces the English throne in exchange for a yearly stipend of 3000 marks & the concession of all but one of Henrys possessions in Normandy
